In my relationship with all students I embody the ethical standard of Care by:

  • Honoring and respecting the interconnectedness of all beings and the land.

  • Foster a safe space where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and seeking support when needed.

In my relationship with all students I embody the ethical standard of Care by:

  • Support the holistic well-being of students by recognizing and addressing their mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. 

  • Recognize the impacts of historical trauma and systemic injustices on Indigenous students and communities. Offer opportunities for healing, empowerment, and resilience-building through culturally relevant practices, teachings, and resources.

In my relationship with all students I embody the ethical standard of Respect by:

  • Advocate for equity and inclusivity in the classroom, ensuring that all students feel valued and respected. 

  • Address systemic barriers and work towards creating a more just and equitable learning environment for Indigenous students and all students.

In my relationship with all students I embody the ethical standard of Respect by:

  • Acknowledge and respect the wisdom, traditions, and cultural practices of Indigenous peoples. 

  • Incorporate Indigenous perspectives and teachings into curriculum and create a learning environment that values diverse ways of knowing.

In my relationship with all students I embody the ethical standard of Trust by:

  • Foster meaningful connections with your students by taking the time to listen, understand their perspectives, and support their growth and well-being. Show empathy, compassion, and a genuine interest in their success.

In my relationship with all students I embody the ethical standard of Trust by:

  • Establish trust with students by being honest, transparent, and consistent in my actions and communications. 

  • Show respect for their perspectives and experiences, and create a safe space where they feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas.

In my relationship with all students I embody the ethical standard of Integrity by:

  • reliability reflects a deep sense of accountability to the community and the land. By demonstrating reliability in your professional endeavors, you uphold the values of stewardship and reciprocity.

  • Honesty extends beyond mere truth-telling to encompass a deep respect for the interconnectedness of all beings. By being honest in your professional interactions, you honor the principles of reciprocity and mutual respect that are central to many Indigenous worldviews.

In my relationship with all students I embody the ethical standard of Integrity by:

  • Acting with integrity involves making ethical decisions and taking moral action guided by principles of respect, reciprocity, and interconnectedness. In an Indigenous perspective, moral action is rooted in a deep understanding of one's responsibilities to the community, future generations, and the natural world. By embodying moral action in my life, I contribute to the well-being and harmony of all relations.
